Fashion Arts Toronto held their Arts & Fashion Week April 24-28, 2012. Arts & Fashion Week is a platform for inventive, pioneering and contemporary expression. This annual event features 200 national and international fashion designers, visual artists, bands and performers.
The featured collection from GDA was called KSI and payed homage to her Ghanian roots, but from a futurist point of view. She aimed to merge tradition and evolution in jewellery. She challenges the wearer to “dare to be different”.
Angela styled 10 models for GDA and the main idea was contrast. All extensions and materials had to be used and the models’ hair was big and noticeable.
Angela brought her creativity to the fore at this show and she commented that the rush and excitement of working backstage was something she truly enjoyed!
I do hair because it makes the person that is sitting in my chair feel amazing, fresh and happy. I feel that if I am able to make someone feel amazing in such a short period of time that’s all the reward for me”
